Speaker 1:

Hey, this is Annie Veblen-McCarty and I'm gonna teach you how to be effortlessly productive. I've been an entrepreneur for over 20 years and I got sick and tired of experts preaching what business and life should look like and what I should be doing as a leader and to turn a profit, only to find myself wasting time, burned out, feeling inauthentic and still not making any money. On this show, we are ditching the shoulds. I'm giving you permission to do business differently. As a certified master coach, I believe that everything you need to have success and build the life and business of your dreams is already living on the inside. I'm going to empower you to lean into what you do best, help you see your path forward clearly and give you the strategy and action steps along the way to become effortlessly productive. Let's dive in.

Speaker 1:

Why do you think entrepreneurs have such a hard time giving up certain tasks, Like? Why do they have trouble giving up control? Oh, this is a good question. So I think entrepreneurs have trouble giving up control for a number of reasons. I think one of those reasons definitely goes back to the subconscious mind. It goes back to what's happening in our brains, where that is our safety blanket. That is what we've always done, that's what we know has brought us that success, and when we give that up to somebody else ideally right we're not giving it up completely. In our business, those things still need to be done, but when we give them up doing them up ourselves, our head voice, our subconscious, is trying to keep us safe. It is used to what it's always done, so that is familiar, that is safe, and it wants to hold on to that.

Speaker 1:

We also start to question. We go into those thought spirals like I know that I'm doing it right. Can somebody else do it the same as me? Is this going to come off as scripted? Is this going to be inauthentic? I hear all the time entrepreneurs say I just feel like, if it's more of a script, if I'm copying and pasting, if somebody else is doing it for me, it's not going to be my authentic self, because I'm not going to be the one pushing the send button. We need to remember, though it's the energy that we bring to it. It's the energy that we wrote that message in, and the people that we have working for us also bring that energy. So it's really important to make sure we're working with people and hiring people who align with our energy. Because as long as that is true, it doesn't matter that somebody else is the one sending those messages. It's still going to be coming from you and coming from your energy and your business. So that is one reason why I think entrepreneurs have a really hard time giving up control.

Speaker 1:

I think it's also our subconscious fighting against that growth right, we aren't sure what happens at that next level. We aren't sure where our business is going to take us. Maybe there's a fear of success, Maybe there's a fear of failure. So that unknown is a really challenging place to go to. So that makes it very hard to give that up, because we know giving that up means that we are ascending to that next level of growth and even further than that. We have to become that new person. We are, in a way, giving up our first identity to become this new identity and that kind of change can be really challenging to go through. But we also know that it's very necessary to get to that next level. Your million-dollar or billion-dollar earner is not the same person that was earning a thousand dollars a month in their business. So you have to become that person to get to the success that you want to have.
